Where To Get Pictures

Posted by Elizabeth Richardson On May - 13 - 2009
The visual appeal of a website is often dependant on the quality of images used. So, when you build your own site, it’s important to source good images to display your style, your products or your services.

If you can take professional quality photographs yourself then you already have a head-start. But, even then, you need to know how to work with those images to enhance them for use on the Internet…and change the file sizes so your web pages load quickly. See Resizing Pictures.
The websites below specialize in pictures for websites and other advertising material and this list might come in useful if you need to get some inspiration as well.

ImageSizer is a terrific little FREEĀ  ‘Adobe Air’ application built to resize, optimize and rename a batch of jpg images, outputting them as a single compressed zip file – perfect if you want to e-mail a load of images off your digital camera, or upload a folder of images to your website or picture gallery – just drag, drop, fiddle with settings and press ‘Compress Your Images’.
Once the files are processed, you can simply drag and drop again to export all of your images as a compressed zip archive or a folder on your hard drive.
It’s really easy to use and install.

FREE Image Resizing Tool – Great For Email and Uploading To Websites

ABOUT PIX RESIZER – PIXresizer is a photo resizing program to easily create e-mail and website friendly versions of your images with reduced file sizes.

The reduced files can be saved in a different folder (or with a slightly different file name), so your original images are not altered at all.

PIXresizer offers several different resizing methods to choose from and can automatically recognize image sizes to calculate the best fit. In addition, it can convert between image formats (JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG and TIFF), rotate images, convert to grayscale and re-size multiple images in batches.
